Back when I was in high school, prom photoshoots were not common. ‘Prom photoshoots’ were each friends’ parents taking pictures on their cameras, and saying ‘smile more’ at us. There may have been a photographer with a cheesy backdrop at prom also.
Fast forwarding to when my generation’s style is trending, prom photoshoots are common. They’re a whole less stressful than having a parent somewhat direct their kids.
Last March I was requested to do one prom photoshoot for a group of friends. It just so happened to be on one of the colder Saturdays also. Luckily, the couples braved the cold and did well with posing direction. They took breaks by running to vehicles to warm up between posing.
